Project Preview: Human Emphasis on Humans by H.L. Goyer

I’ve been working this project for a while and it is now complete. It however is on-hold until I have the income to justify having prints made to push it from 99% to 100%. SO, here is 1 out of 15. You will see the rest some day.

…to make you feel without hope, by H.L. Goyer

Digital

This is meant to be a 6 foot wide print, to be observed in medium-dim light and was designed to make you feel utterly hopeless, if not meaningless in the scope of the universe.

On the one hand, I hope I fail at making you feel this way. On the other, if I succeed it means I am starting to scratch the surface of abstract art.

If only you could see the high res version.

Final revision for a book cover, whatcha think? (The title is to be a Raised UV Coating, aka shiny black and slightly raised from the cover)

Concept art for a Choose your Own Adventure Comic, Pale Blue Ranger by H.L. Goyer

-

Another reblog of some of my work from the Calgary Digital Artists group. This is concept art for a comic I have been working on for far too long and am now just starting to work on the actual art. You can see a faint outline of where a spaceship will eventually be if I ever find someone to work on this with that enjoys drawing the same thing over and over in different positions and scenarios… I am not that person sadly, so it may never get further than a bunch of concept art.

In this scene you have the ship taking off, casting a bright light into the sky and illuminating it due to dense low hanging clouds.

You may notice again from the title that this entire comic is a Carl Sagan tribute of sorts.

First you must Create the Universe by H.L. Goyer

Some of my art posted on a local Calgary Digital Artists blog. Which you may or may not recognize by the title to be a Carl Sagan homage.

Ian finds the Source of all Green by H.L. Goyer

It is the anniversary of a friends birth, and instead of buying or crafting him a physical gift and never delivering it to him I decided to make an art instead. So, here is a birthday art. A birthday art for Ian. Who once indeed found the source of all green.

The Six Ghosts of Revelry by H.L. Goyer

14” x 11” Acrylic, Enamel

Two days before my own birthday, six of my paintings will be featured in a group show at gigantic gallery of Portland, Oregon. The theme of said group show is Dia de los Muertos, and that is the only explanation I offer. If you care to learn more about them, you’re going to have to go check out the show yourself. It will be on November 3rd, at this exact address: 1720 NW Lovejoy #103 in Portland, Oregon. They will have a special Portland only price of $80 dollars each, quite a bargain for an original signed, thumb printed painting by a friendly fellow such as myself.

So if you know anyone in or around Portland that may enjoy my work, perhaps send them to check it out. Or if you have an enemy that hates abstract art, send them to check it out, too. Either way I succeed in having more eyes on my work, in person. You succeed by either antagonizing a foe or exposing a friend to something wonderful. (Not my words, we all know I hate everything I produce immediately after falling in love with it.)
