First art I’ve completed in 2013. Off to a slow start.

…to make you feel without hope, by H.L. Goyer

This is meant to be a 6 foot wide print, to be observed in medium-dim light and was designed to make you feel utterly hopeless, if not meaningless in the scope of the universe.

On the one hand, I hope I fail at making you feel this way. On the other, if I succeed it means I am starting to scratch the surface of abstract art.

If only you could see the high res version.

Final revision for a book cover, whatcha think? (The title is to be a Raised UV Coating, aka shiny black and slightly raised from the cover)

Concept art for a Choose your Own Adventure Comic, Pale Blue Ranger by H.L. Goyer

-

Another reblog of some of my work from the Calgary Digital Artists group. This is concept art for a comic I have been working on for far too long and am now just starting to work on the actual art. You can see a faint outline of where a spaceship will eventually be if I ever find someone to work on this with that enjoys drawing the same thing over and over in different positions and scenarios… I am not that person sadly, so it may never get further than a bunch of concept art.

In this scene you have the ship taking off, casting a bright light into the sky and illuminating it due to dense low hanging clouds.

You may notice again from the title that this entire comic is a Carl Sagan tribute of sorts.

First you must Create the Universe by H.L. Goyer

Some of my art posted on a local Calgary Digital Artists blog. Which you may or may not recognize by the title to be a Carl Sagan homage.

It is the anniversary of a friends birth, and instead of buying or crafting him a physical gift and never delivering it to him I decided to make an art instead. So, here is a birthday art. A birthday art for Ian. Who once indeed found the source of all green.
